Wutachtalbahn
The Wutachtalbahn, also known as "Sauschwaenzle" (Pigs tail-) Bahn is considered one of the most beautiful museum-railways in Germany. It is located at the southern end of the Black Forest area, just a stone throw from the Swiss border. This railway will always have a special place in my heart, because many years ago, I spent a lot of weekends there as a volunteer. The museum opened in 1977 and has been in operation every year from about April to October. A German class 50 (2-10-0) and a German class 86 tank engine (2-8-2) are the main engines used to pull the museum train. They also own a small 0-4-0 tank engine, an Austrian class 93 Tank engine and a rail car. The pictures and video below were taken during several visits I made during the last couple of years.
